Last week, Chaweng Stadium hosted another great night of Muay Thai fighting. Samui Fight House fighter, Miguel Araya from Chile, increased his winning record to 8-1. Continuing his track record of keeping his fights short but sweet, Miguel finished the fight quickly into the third round.
His opponent, fought valiantly, but to no avail. Effecting some well targeted teeps, Miguel kept his opponent at bay, only allowing him close when he delivered kicks which could be heard by the appreciative crowd.
After two gentle, “getting to know his opponent” rounds, Miguel stepped up the pressure and came in with a lethal right kick to his opponent’s torso, followed in quick succession by another kick and a knee straight into the stomach, culminating with a brutal knee to the torso which instantly ended the fight.
Miguel has been training with Kru Sean Douglas and the team at Samui Fight House since January this year. Not content with just being a Muay Thai fighter, Miguel holds professional degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, from the Universidad Austral de Chile. But, for now at least, Miguel seems more than content to continue his training with Samui Fight House, and with the record he holds, who can blame him?
